How we work with the NHS

Though Dr Duncan is certified to work in the NHS, we currently do not provide NHS treatment for children. However, she understands the system and will work closely with your dentist to ensure your child is referred to the NHS for treatment at the appropriate time. We also offer multiple finance options that help spread out the cost of treatment and make orthodontic care more affordable for your family. This includes free consultations for children as young as 7 years old and 0% interest payment plans.

Evaluate NHS eligibility with a free consultation for your child

Did you know that 90% of your child’s growth is completed by the time they reach 12 years old? Starting orthodontic treatment helps their teeth develop with the proper alignment, reducing or eliminating the need for braces in the future.

We know how important it is for your child to see a Specialist Orthodontist early on - and we never want the cost of braces to prohibit them from that initial visit or getting the NHS care they may qualify for. That’s why our first consultations are always free for children.

During that visit, we’ll:

  • Complete a full comprehensive examination of how your child’s teeth and jaw are forming
  • Take profesional x-rays, 3D scans and photographs
  • Have an open discussion with you about their teeth, jaws and bite, addressing any concerns that may arise
  • Review treatment options that would be a good fit for them
  • Evaluate their eligibility for treatment under the NHS

If your child is eligible for treatments via the NHS, we will work with you and your dentist to provide a referral and help your child get the orthodontic care they need.
